Brrr, it's cool in Melbourne

This was the scene when we parked the car in Collingwood this morning. Frosty frozen leaves, and an icy path going past the station. It warmed up later. I'm using this photo as my desktop at work, though!

That's HAIL, Caesar!

We woke up this morning to chilly temperatures and heavy rain. Wait a minute, that's not rain, that's HAIL!

Here's my sturdy rosemary plant...

And here's the delicate tomato, just loving this weather.

Jeff and the kids are off to Scienceworks to race solar cars. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha h.

I was just out in a Melbourne Hail Storm!

This is the hail storm I was sheltering from in Mount Waverley just now. The hail was really golf ball sized - it dented my car a little!

Jonathan was having a swim just minutes before, and it looked like a good idea to follow him in. I had been thinking of riding my bike to the uniform shop, but Jeff told me it was very steep out that way.

We also looked at the weather radar just before, and decided there was a good chance of "some" rain.

By the time I got to the shop it was as dark as night, and then they started throwing rocks at us!

It's wicked cold in Melbourne!

This is how Jeff leaves the house these days - proper English winter coat from his grandfather, locally made Harris Tweed hat, scarf from a holiday in Scotland, and Canadian gloves.

Here's a flashback to a few months ago.

I always say I like to warm up with a brisk walk. Which you can't do when it's raining (and hailing) so I've been seen lately riding the exercise bike in the bedroom (with a movie going on the iPod - luxury!).
