A feel-better collage

Not feeling well yesterday or today (nothing interesting, just a cold) so I made this collaged canvas. The asian food all comes from a menu the very enthusiastic staff at Urban Asian at Chadstone gave me. It worked, we both ordered noodles from them, Malaysian for me, and Thai for
Jeff. Then I recycled the menu.

Radish, anyone?

Catriona and I went to a church fete this morning. We had a nice visit, bought a lucky jar, some spare Tupperware lids, a set of 12 Prismacolor pencils, and this gorgeous Johnson Brothers bowl with a radish design. I told the lovely lady, it's the last thing I need, but she offered it to me for 50c!

Oh, and we had Sudanese donuts too. Multiculturalism completely rocks!

How to use a Cropadile ... To fix shoes!

This shoe needs mending!
I asked Jonathan how his new school shoes were going. He showed me a problem. These leather shoes had holes punched for threading the laces, but no metal eyelets to protect them. The holes were tearing!

Jonathan mends his shoe
So I got out the Cropadile (that's a scrapbooking gadget that punches holes and sets eyelets) and showed him how to use it. We had to use the biggest eyelets I had to get a good result, but I think it was completely successful.
A mended shoe - that's two different sizes of eyelet we ended up with.

Footy tipping celebration!

Well, the work footy tipping competition came to an end (yes, I was in it, nobody's a bigger footy fan than me). Today is the big announcement of who won the tipping (we decided to run our tipping up to the finals). So I've made gingerbread footy players as a treat. And I've picked these colours, because I just love the team represented by these colours. They are the best. I love it when they hit goals. I hope they got into the finals, because apparently that's a thing.

Ok, maybe I'm not the actual biggest footy fan, but last time I checked, I was coming fourth in the tipping, out of fourteen players. I'm beating Jeff.

And I've won two hamburgers.

Come to my Stamp Sale

My stamp club is hosting an awesome rubber stamp sale on 29 September. I mean awesome. The eminent stamper, Ellen Eadie, has decided to part with her magnificent collection. She has mostly classic PSX stamps. As a sample, here's a birthday card I made recently, using a PSX stamp from my own collection:

This is a great opportunity to collect some amazing stamps. I've put all the details on this new blog, which I'll be updating through the month.

Do be a love and share that link, will you?

Also, Happy Birthday Poppy Plum!
