We went to the caves!

Here we are underground, enjoying a stalactite formation. Whoa! It must have taken them weeks to cast all this stuff in wax. Which it is clearly made of. No way is the park keeper's story about this all being naturally formed out of limestone true.

This is the Royal cave at Buchan caves, and it's well worth a visit, if you don't mind dark and enclosed places!

Quite possibly the best public park anywhere

This is Howitt Park, just on the edge of Bairnsdale. This is the huge slide, big enough for a 13 year old to enjoy. There's also a decent sized flying fox! And there's a river, and a good view of some cows. Now that is a nice level of public park facilities!

A worm please...

Jonathan thinks he's so smart, cos he can make balloon animals. So when he met a professional balloonologist in Metung, he asked for an unfolded one please. And made this dog-giraffe.

A famous pie

Nicholson General Store claim to be famous for their home made pies. We arrived just before closing time and nabbed the last three. THIS is a general store pie from a tiny town? This is a fabulous pie! Well done Nicholson Bakers.

Awesome plate in a shop window

In Stratford, on the Avon river (no, not that one). On 15 May (I think) Stratford are having a Shakespeare festival. So if you're looking for something to do, that's Something. This plate comes from Turkey. It has nothing to do with the festival, but it's pretty.

We're leaping in Sale!

Easter holiday, and we've found a pizza place for lunch. Pause for a walk and a leap... Now on to our destination!

A little allegory for you

A gorilla is no match for a big brain, but a gorilla with a gun and a jeep...

Great rainbow!

On the way to work - that's pretty!

Look who came home!

From Denver to Gails house...

The great flood of 2011

It's slowed down a bit now, and it's nearly 5am, and we're not going back to bed, so why not use this spare time to document - The Great Flood of 2011!
Mopping and mopping and mopping the front hall...

That isn't supposed to happen!

Move the valuables to
higher ground (these stamps were getting splashed on)

I've worked out what to do with my retired Stampin Up cardstock now... have to ditch it all.

Rescued the school photos!

These stamps will recover, but I don't like the chances for the immersed stamp pads!

This room's gonna need new carpet!

Practising for Paris

Jeff and I are off to Paris, to celebrate his 50th birthday (don't worry, the grandparents are minding the kids!).

We are looking forward to Good Things To Eat.

I had to visit the school uniform shop in Kew (it's pretty far from home, so I needed sustenance when I got there). Well, across the road from the uniform shop is Xocolatl, an artisan chocolate shop. I got there just as the barista was on a break, the cook was up to her elbows in nougat, and the owner and chocolatier was in charge. He charmed me into a chocolate with my drink (which was hot chocolate, of course). It was Mango, Gorgonzola and White Chocolate. Sigh. Yes, gorgonzola.

This photo, of course, was taken at home. This is the OTHER one I bought to take home.

Fuchsias, they're pink, right?

So, just showing off that I have a new (second hand) PSX floral stamp, and some Copic markers, or actually sharing my craft? Better go for the latter.

What do you think, shadow or no shadow?

Drive safely people!

The car that drove off a building in Melbourne this morning has ended up at the crash repairers across from the office. This driver survived, but we've all been reminded to drive safely, and to choose safe cars!

Help needed on a scientific anomaly

I pulled out a grey hair just now - I know, better stop doing that. It was a crinkly one that stuck right up. On closer investigation, this is what it looks like. The end at the root is dark, my normal colour, and smooth- that is, not crinkly. Half way along the hair, it turns grey, and goes crinkly.

I thought when your hair turned grey, you stop growing brown ones and start growing white ones - so I don't understand how a half and half hair grows. This is the second one I've noticed like this. I've kept it!
